"Realator" Butchery
A recent post I read on Copyblogger on Nick Cernis’ take on typos and word butchery, prompted me to confess the torture I endure with the word Real- A -Tor!!! Sound at all familiar? It’s like Nu-cu-lar instead of Nu-cle-ar! According to The Vocabula Review the word “realator” – is “ the Idiot’s version of “realtor.” In ignorance, some people add a phonetic sound (real-A-tor) that doesn’t exist in the word. Did I catch your attention? Can someone please tell me where and when the extra A was added to the word “Realtor”. These are just a few questions to ask yourself! * What’s this got to do with you? There are no Real -A-Tors!
* What’s all this worth to you? Not all real estate agents are “REALTORS”! The term REALTOR® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.
* What’s does this mean to you? Realtors are experts and there are dozens of reasons to use their expertise. The only real question to ask yourself is – are you looking for a “Port Orange Realtor”? If the answer is yes, you have come to the right place to buy and sell Port Orange Real Estate!
